Nasogastric tube - a thin,
flexible tube that is passed through the nose or mouth to
remove liquids and air from the stomach when the bowel is
obstructed, or after intestinal surgery.
Nephrolithiasis - kidney stones.
Neural regulation - a control mechanism
in the GI track in which nerves release chemicals that either
strengthen the force of peristaltic and segmental contractions
or relax the muscles in the wall of the small intestine.
Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory
drugs (NSAIDs) - a class of drugs that reduce inflammation
and pain without steroids (e.g., aspirin, naproxen and ibuprofen).
